Latest company news about How to Remove Excessive Powder Exist on the Clear Film of DTF?

Any idea what is causing this? Humidity is on point, shaker speed is good. Temperature perfect. Any thoughts? You must be very frustrated for this when you make the clothing dtf printing .

There are several reasons cauing this and you can compare the below points:

  1. Incorrect Powder Application – Too much adhesive powder applied or uneven shaking off after powdering.

  2. Low Powder Quality – Poor melting point or improper particle size leads to incomplete curing or adhesion.

  3. Insufficient Curing Temperature/Time – The adhesive isn’t fully melted and bonded to the film during the curing process.

  4. Incorrect Film Type – Using a film with poor release properties or incompatible coating.

  5. Old or Reused Adhesive Powder – Powder that has absorbed moisture or degraded may not transfer fully.

  6. Over-curing – Can cause adhesive to become brittle and partially remain on the film.

  7. Pressure or Temperature Issues in Transfer – If heat press parameters are incorrect, the adhesive may not release completely from the film.

Solutions:

  1. Optimize Powder Application

    • Use the correct amount of adhesive powder.

    • Ensure the shaker machine removes excess powder properly.

  2. Use High-Quality Adhesive Powder

    • Select powder specifically designed for DTF with proper particle size (usually 80–160 μm).

    • Check the powder's melting temperature and flowability.

  3. Adjust Curing Settings

    • Curing temperature: typically 150–170 °C (300–340 °F).

    • Curing time: 2–4 minutes (depending on oven type and powder thickness).

    • Use an infrared thermometer to verify actual surface temperature.

  4. Check Film Compatibility

    • Use high-quality DTF release film with proper coating.

    • Avoid using damaged or scratched film.

  5. Store Powder Properly

    • Keep powder in a dry, sealed container away from moisture and direct sunlight.

  6. Monitor Heat Press Settings

    • Transfer temperature: 150–160 °C (300–320 °F).

    • Pressure: medium to firm (but not excessive).

    • Time: 10–15 seconds (adjust based on material and adhesive).

  7. Perform Regular Maintenance

    • Clean the heat press and powder shaker regularly.

    • Test parameters with small runs before full production.

  8. If Excess Adhesive Sticks to Film After Transfer

    • Re-press the film with a new piece of fabric or Teflon sheet to pull off remaining adhesive.

    • Reduce powder amount in future prints.

    • Increase initial curing slightly to ensure full bonding.

By systematically checking these factors, you can eliminate excess adhesive residue and improve DTF transfer quality LIKE THIS .
